Really, unless you're having an issue with a game, there's no reason to update drivers. I consider it a bad habit, that I'm always going and pulling the latest drivers for my hardware. I have been trying to break that habit, but I went ahead with the Nvidia update because I wanted to test whether or not the original issue had been fixed.

I have an ATI on my machine and the control center actually won't update. So it's the base driver or nothing. And I'm not enough of a techie to bother doing anything about that.

Thanks for the heads up on the new drivers. The only thing I dislike about ATI is the control center.

No idea about any of Nvidia's other card lines. This GTX 275 is actually my first Nvidia card in more than 5 years, I had a bad driver experience and switched to ATI for a long time.

Honestly it is probably a bad habit of mine to always update drivers when my existing ones work fine, but I was really curious to see if the stuttering issues were fixed or not. My performance was just fine with 190.62 though.

Come to think of it, the drivers I'm using must be at least six months old . . .

Good to know. I am at 195.x notebook version and my card is a GeForce 9800M, so i am probably not affected at all. But maybe the 196.x drivers (not yet released for notebook versions of the GeForce) will give me a boost or somehow improved performance, too. :)
