MMO GamerChick has posted some nice screenshots of some of the construction projects going on in our little Minecraft world.

Is it egotistical to call the world Bluekaedia if I’m not the one who came up with it? I’ve been struggling to find a good name for the place for a little while and the only thing I’ve halfway liked was Twerth, since Twitter is the common link for everyone who’s on the server.

If you want to get an idea for what playing on multiplayer Minecraft is like, Hunter has a good writeup called Trail of Tears.

Bluekaedia’s just my personal name for it, but adopt it if you want, I don’t think it’s egotistical! You deserve the recognition after all, I think it was awesome of you to start the server. If it was mine, nothing would have stopped me from calling it Stefftopia or something 😛

Trail of Tears is an awesome tribute to me. I had tears of joy reading it. Also, thank you very much for letting me play on your server. Without it my GF and I would not be playing a game together. She did say if the next update brings death to mulitplayer, she might not play it anymore. She is very very new to games and she likes not dying so she can freely learn the controls

That’s something I’ve been thinking about. Once Notch get’s a health system added, will it be configurable so we can decide whether or not to turn it on? And, what’s the split of people on the server who want monsters vs. those who don’t. I could always setup a copy, but that’d split the population. Going to be some decisions to make soon.

ETERNIA! it’s got to be eternia.

i’m worried about updates too. the easy production of light sources right now is wonderful, i don’t want to have to replace/reignite hundreds upon hundreds of torches. health wouldn’t bother me so much.

That’s a bonus of not having an official name, I guess. Everyone can call it what they want.

I’ve read on the Minecraft forums that all existing torches will get converted to lanterns when the Halloween update goes out. I don’t remember exactly where, but think I did come from Notch. If nothing else, I can always get a map editor and switch all of the torches over to lanterns so we’d only have to worry going forward. The switch doesn’t bother me all the much, just means I’d need to put more doors in place and keep flint/steel on me.

One change I would like to see is allowing me to light a torch and carry it. Would make exploring a bit easier than planting torches and then picking them up constantly.
