Vistas of Telara: Droughtlands

I didn’t start doing panoramic screenshots until after I’d finished questing in the Droughtlands. A story quest I was following sent me back to Harlan’s Lament, though and I took the opportunity to get a nice shot of Lantern Hook and Shimmersand’s Flatyard.

Vistas of Telara: Stillmoor

As I do sometimes in real life, in MMOs I like to climb mountains to see the view from the top. This is a view from a peak just north of the Iron Pine Peak pass that leads into Stillmoor. To the left is the Icewatch Outpost that leads into Iron Pine Peak and in the distance at the far right is Greenscale’s Blight.

Vistas of Telara

I mentioned a while back how gorgeous Telara is, and I’ve been meaning to follow that up with some panorama shots. This is a shot of Meridian as seen across the Lake of Solace from the Shimmersand desert.

Gorgeous

Defiants spend their first twentyish levels (once they go back in time) in Freemarch. It is a fairly large area, very pretty and interesting, but it’s not gorgeous. Or maybe it was gorgeous when I first saw it in beta, but in the headstart I’ve not paid much attention to the environment. At least until I made my way into Stonefield.

Actually, looking at it now I don’t think the screenshot does it justice. The motion of the clouds and rain and the sense of space are both missing and were a big part of the sense of awe I had when I first come upon this view.

Map Glitch

I don’t know if it’s a problem with the current 1.2 beta or with the server mod I switched to recently, but these map glitches are kind of fun. It’s a looong way down to the bottom. Thankfully logging out and back into the server is enough to reset it and there’s not actual damage to the map.

By the way, Notch added a screenshot function in beta 1.2, just press F2.

Millennium City Advertising

There are some aerial billboards in the Renaissance Center in Millennium City. I’m not sure if it’s new, but this one caught my eye.
