I may be switching to console mode again for a few days. Why?

  • Transformers: War for Cybertron is on it’s way from Amazon and should be here by Thursday.
  • There’s the freshly downloaded Crackdown 2 demo on my Eilte’s hard-drive begging to be played.
  • Mass Effect 2 has three DLC’s piled up that I’ve barely touched.
  • Red Dead Redemption has some new and free CO-OP maps.

There’s lots to do on the Xbox 360.

Then again, poor Cimmerian Brynulf has been trapped in Tortage for weeks longer than he should have been, and he’s only one quest away from escaping.

Also, don’t forget the new free co op DLC for BFBC2. Course if your too scared to play that game, I’d understand.. MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!

RDR is about as much shooter as I’m capable of anymore, unfortunately. We still need to hook up a Posse sometime.

Aaron has been playing the Crackdown 2 demo almost non-stop. We did a co-op session and had a lot of fun. Like I tweeted yesterday, the way it dropped you into the game with the cops already in the middle of a firefight reminded me of the Champions Online intro. Only… sorry, mate… I actually had FUN in Crackdown 2 whereas I think I’m still level 2 in CO…

Did you play the first Crackdown? That was also a blast, and a lot of laughs; ramping it up to 4 players should really be fun.

Um, yeah… at some point I really need to do RDR…

Oh and you own BFBC2? Or no?

Maybe I’d have more fun in the co-op version. I did play (and beat) the first Crackdown and really loved it. I played it more from a ranged and sniper focus though, and the demo for C2 was much more frenetic. I got up to the point where it dropped me in a pit flooded with mutants of some type and that was the end of it for me. Deleted the demo from my hard-drive.

      No I don’t have BFBC2.

Maybe queue it for a reinstall and we can try a four-way co-op next time I’m home and available to see how we feel about it that way? I’ll probably treat it like Borderlands where it’s primarily made for co-op and won’t play much on my own single-player.

I can do that, I’m willing to give it another shot. The first Crackdown I played very little co-op. I think I spent most of my time sniping by throwing concrete blocks off of roofs.

I did about half and half the first time, although I think I played the actual game part all solo. The co-op part was just finding out how crazy stupid we could be and cause all kinds of anarchic destruction. Ah, the laughs!

I’ve not played all of the ME2 DLC, but ‘Stolen Memory’ was a literal crap ton of fun. Kasumi is a neat character that has one wicked awesome ability – when you order her to Shadow Strike, she cloaks, then uncloaks behind an enemy and hits for MASSIVE DAMAGE, and it can be upgraded to have a reduced cooldown if it kills the target. The tone of her loyalty mission is very different from most of the game – you’re running a heist – and it is really fun for it. Also, you acquire one of the best guns in the game – the Locust submachine gun – on top of seeing some really neat art.

That said, I played her mission in the context of my first play through (still on going). She, and the Locust, have made my Insane difficulty playthrough much easier – almost too easy, to be fair. I’m not certain how much fun you’d have playing her mission after having finished the whole game.

I started the Hammerhead DLC a while back but never finished it. I haven’t touched the Kasumi mission, but I’m looking forward to it, even having finished the game I figure it’ll be fun to see the content. I keep planning to play through the game again to try out other classes, but there’s so many other games to play.

I just played the Overlord DLC and had an absolute blast with it. I wish BioWare didn’t have such a morbid fascination with vehicles bouncing and slamming into terrain with what would be fatal results, however…

I kinda forget how the other DLC went and how long it lasted, but Overlord probably took 2-3 hours and was a lot of fun and it’s own dark storyline; very well done.

Awesome! I’ve bought it and downloaded it, but haven’t played it yet. I’m out of town part of this weekend, but hopefully Sunday evening will be a ME2 DLC marathon.

Dang it. You’re making want to go back to ME2 again. No time!

Time is the rarest resource isn’t it? So many hobbies I’m behind on, books and games just keep stacking up. Maybe I’ll catch up when I retire in 30 years.

I went console instead of AoC. I’ve been playing Transformers a bit, although I’ve been out of town for the weekend doing a spouse reputation quest.
