Like the area looting, Trion’s add another nice little feature that I think other MMO developers should borrow. Click the little stack-o-coins button at the bottom of your vendor window and watch all your grey vendor trash items vanish at once.

I found that earlier and though what a cool feature and one stop way to clear all the junk in a bag. That just saves allot of time.

Its all those little ideas to me that make me think that the Trion devs are at least thinking of almost everything they can do to either make things easier or simpler game wise borrowing from other games and trying to improve features.

Agreed. I love these little quality of life features.

That is much better than the LOTRO version, which sells everything in your bag which you haven’t locked down.

Yeah, I’m pretty retentive about my LotRO bags. I’m constantly organizing stuff and locking items so that I can just click Sell All when I get back to civilization. They already have grey-level vendor trash items so this would be a very easily added feature.

having a feature like that makes me wonder what they point in having grey items is to begin with. Is is just to clutter inventory? They should make one item called “vendor trash” that is stackable LOL

That would make it easier, although at that stage why have vendor trash at all, just give people money. I think the point is to force you to head back to the cities or quest hubs occasionally in order to foster community.

Exactly. The whole “vendor trash” nonsense and bag space game is tired and overused. I’m not sure I buy the “force you back to town” excuse these days, since most questgivers are in town, as are auction houses, shops, inns and social events. There are plenty of reasons to go back to town; vendor trash is just a waste of time.

And what vendor in their right mind buys that trash anyway? Rotting Bear Carcasses can’t be worth *that* much on the secondary market. NPCs have a weird economy.

Good points there. The whole idea that any vendor will buy all of the miscellany that you end up looting is pretty ridiculous. I suppose it’s partly just designer laziness: it’s that way because it’s always been that way. I does server a small purpose in that if you don’t want to quest but you’re trying to earn money, you can grind your way to your goal by killing mobs and selling the junk. I’m sure there’s a better alternative to that though. Possibly allowing a few repeatable quests to curb wildlife populations, so you get the money all at once when you turn in the quest.

When I first saw that, I thought “Hey, it’s just like LOTRO!” But yeah, as wilhelm reminded me, you gotta lock items down for that, which I do all the time when I go through my inventory — I’ve made it so that it works the exact same way for me in LOTRO so much that it’s become almost natural for me and I forget. I prefer that in some ways, because sometimes I sell non “junk” items too and sorting through my bags on the fly while I’m playing saves a lot of time at the vendor!

Yeah, I’m constantly locking items and sorting/organizing my bags in LotRO. Still it’s nice to not have to micro-manage my inventory.

Aion had this feature a long time ago, automatically sells all junk items to merchant. In fact, I’m pretty sure a few other games had it before then too. So Trion borrowed it from them, which is good, as it just makes sense.

Really? I don’t remember that from Aion but then I only briefly played the open beta. Thanks for the info!
