I’ve been a gamer since I was eight.  When I started playing games it was on a Texas Instruments TI-99. Most of the games I played I typed in from computer magazine program listings, and I saved/loaded them from audio tape. Saving or loading could take up to 15 minutes. The first floppy drive I had was the size of one of today’s desktop towers laid on it’s side, really.

I’ve decided to start this blog because of some recent trends in the gaming industry.  Normally something will happen that irritates or fascinates me and I think I should write about it, but I never do.  Lately though, the urge has stuck.

If you want to send me an email, send it to brian@bluekae.com.  If you want to listen to me babble daily, you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram. For PC games, you can find me through Steam.

Classic picture! It brought back a ton of memories. You were lucky to have that set of peripherals at 8 years old. I was 12 or 13 by the time I got a TI setup like the one you’ve got there…though I don’t see telephone coupler modem – an absolute requirement for all hackers in training. It’s good to see fellow ’99ers out there!
